Terrazzo lasts for decades, but it is not bulletproof. Settling slabs, dropped weights, old tile removal, and plumbing work can leave cracks, chips, holes, and patches that don’t match. Intra-State Terrazzo & Concrete repairs terrazzo so the fix blends into the floor around it.
What We Repair
- Cracks from slab movement
- Chips and holes
- Divider strip damage
- Old patches that don’t match
- Stains and etching from acids, rust, or pet accidents
- Areas left behind after a wall or cabinet comes out
How a Repair Blends In
A good repair matches three things: the binder color, the chip mix, and the finish. We look at the floor up close, build a matching mix, fill the damaged area, then grind and polish it level with the rest of the floor. Many repairs are part of a full terrazzo restoration so the whole room shines the same.
Repair or Restore?
If the damage is in one spot and the rest of the floor looks good, a repair may be all you need. If the floor is dull, scratched, or covered in old wax, a full restoration usually gives the best result. We will tell you which one makes sense after we see the floor. Frequently Asked Questions
Can cracked terrazzo be repaired?
Yes. Most cracks can be filled with a color-matched mix and polished level. If the slab under the floor is still moving, the crack can come back, so we check that first.
Will the repair match my floor?
We match the binder color and chip mix to your floor. Very old floors can be hard to match exactly, and we will tell you before work starts.
Can you repair terrazzo after tile or carpet is removed?
Yes. Adhesive, tack strip holes, and old patches are common and repairable.
Is it better to repair or replace terrazzo?
Repair and restoration almost always cost less than replacement and keep the original floor.
